My son doesn't want me to grow old!

Wrinkle Erasing for Starters I chanced upon this headline and it caught my fancy right away. You see, my five-year-old doesn't want me to grow old and wrinkly. The first time this factual reality was mentioned to him, he was stunned. As in stunned that he just stood there frozen, mouth trembling, nose flaring. After trying to comfort him and dissuade him from his unnecessarily disturbing "thoughts", I asked him "Why don't you want me to grow old?" the reply was hesitant but certain. "Because...because...because... I just want you to be cute and beautiful all the time." Later came his worried, rather frantic queries: "Will you have lines on your forehead? Will your teeth all fall out? Will your hair go white? Will you shrink and stoop?" Ohh what TV commercials can do to my son....

For now, I make him and his fears understood. I bought this gaudy looking jar of an anti-aging, anti-laugh lines, anti drying cream and started applying while Gabriel and I share how our day went. He asked, "What's that you're eating?" I said, "This is my present for you! I bought this so I won't have wrinkles for now." He smiled his very contented, happy smile and gave me a hug.

One day soon, I'll tell him why we all have to grow wrinkly, and that I'd rather use cucumber...
