They seem more attractive to me, at least for now. If I were a hacker, I imagine myself hacking accounts, emails and finding out the whereabouts of the enemies. For sure they won't be able to survive without money, emailing, calling and stuff. I will be screwing up everything, their accounts and lines of communications. It seems pretty simple for me, and more realistic than by simply taking down Twitter accounts and websites. I guess for me, it's both spying and manipulating everything that helps them secure their resources.
