FEATURED POETRY: A Ghost Of A Memory

At first this poem has intrigued me, wondering about the extent of the metaphors the poem wanted to convey. Then I went on and finished reading the lines and it dawned on me there is so much about the poem that talks about the reality the society is facing these days. If I go on here and elaborate on how I can fully relate to the poem, I will be washing my dirty linens in my front yard, so I guess I better leave the lines to the dear readers and feel what pain there is to someone who has love, trusted, and lost.

A babe shall dwell in time to come
Its breath shall echo your name
Indeed, your memory's taken flesh
In bits, in parts, in sum.

And I shall cuddle, soft and warm
The babe within my arms
My empty stares and lifeless smiles
Shall all be jeweled charms.

It's pure delight to make alive
The memories lodged within
The warmth of love, the waiting game,
The old and silly grin.

Don't dare stand beside the babe
In flesh I'll see a ghost!
A memory, see, alive, a ghost
Together hurt the most!

But I shall see through pain and tears
In love I'll have it cradled.
The curse I'll seal and bury deep,
I'll have for all time bridled.
